Christella  

There are 50 species of the moderately large fern Christella H.Lev. worldwide, from which, only one is native to Western Australia (Bostock, Holttum, 1998; EOL, n.d). This genus prefers monsoon climates in addition to wet environments such as swamps and forest wetlands (Bostock et al,1998; He, Zhang, 2012). Glands positioned on the lower surface of the costa, costule and veins, have been identified to exhibit strong to moderate antibacterial properties (Raj, Irudayaraj, Johnson, Raja, 2011).
